Formed in 2002, Minkus is a metal band founded by five young artists coming from Lausanne, Switzerland. Its original line-up consisted of José, Alex, Gianni, Zahra and Steve.

Back in 2002, Minkus explored a powerful and melodious style by mixing Spanish and English lyrics. After one year, the band recorded a demo that would later become their first album “Hermano”. This first disc gave them the opportunity to sign a sponsorship contract with Keetch Clothing as well as participating in various competitions, including the 2005 Real Live Music Contest where the band finished second and Zahra received the award for “Best Bass Player 2005”.

With more than seventy concerts all around Switzerland, the band performed at different stages including the Docks, Paléo Festival and Volkshaus (Zurich). Minkus also took part in several radio shows (Krakoukass (Couleur3), Radio Fribourg, Fréquence Banane…) and made interviews for Tvrl and TVM3.

In 2007, the band released its second album, an eponym which will mark the end of the collaboration between the singer and the rest of the group. Several months later, Minkus found their new voice with the arrival of Gabi.

Since the beginning of 2008, the band is preparing its come back. With Gabi, Minkus reviewed its musical inspiration, adding more harmonies and sustained rhythms. With theirs differents musicals influences, the identity of Minkus stay authentic.

After one year of hard work, Minkus is ready to find its public back.
